Image Restoration

Image Restoration

When we were studying image manipulation, we had also been shown how to do image restoration, years ago photoshop artists would use this technique to make money from those who were unsure how to use this simple technique.

This image as you can see above, is scratched with some of the picture missing and with no colour. I will now annotate how to restore its colour, and how to restore its former glory.

The technique we were taught to use was something called the " patch " tool, a tool located just below the eyedropper tool, if you hold mouse left you can open a small menu which holds the Patch tool.

The Patch tool, basically highlights an area, and replaces the highlighted area with an area which is undamaged which is selected by the user. using this method you can restore images and effectively " repair " them.

Next I had used the Pen tool and the selection tool, to select certain areas, on the man's body, to give him a hint of colour to each area, doing this and then increasing the amount of colour for that area increases the colour restoration, effectively giving it a fantastic look, as demonstrated below.
